Jise secures $100,000 funding; begins official functioning in Lagos

Nigeria has reportedly welcomed its first exclusive food delivery app, Jise. The food delivery platform co-founded by Marvelous Gbenro, Tokurah Majid, Ibukun Olasupo and Jeremy Osazuwa Agbonze, has received funding worth $100,000, from angel investors based in Europe and Nigeria.

The COVID-19 pandemic has reportedly blazed the demand for home delivered food and grocery services across the globe. Apparently, Jise took the opportunity to provide exceptional food delivery services to consumers in Nigeria. The primary motive is to provide pocket-friendly and fast delivery services starting with Lagos.

According to sources, the Nigeria-based delivery platform, Jise reportedly shares similarities with the delivery partners named Doordash and Deliveroo from the US and Europe, with main focus of food delivery within 25 minutes.

Apparently, Jise has been introduced to curb the existing issues of inadequacies and the slow deliveries arising due to the varied category focus of delivery partners. These issues led to havoc in delivery of products causing customer disappointment and threat to the brand name.

As per sources, Jise, reportedly has been suggested as the recommended solution to cater to these problems by building a united logistics platform. This will enable the restaurants to conduct independent food delivery thus allowing growth of restaurants via an integrated marketplace.

Reportedly, Jise has raised an investment of $100,000 from notable investors like Backroom, Winston Capital, Nigeria and angel investors like Jonny Enagwolor and others.

Leornad Lynch, Winstor Capital Investor, quoted that their team is elated to assist the startup Jise in Nigeria. He added that the Jise team led by CEO Marvelous, has the potential to become the next Doordash of Nigeria.

It has been claimed that the leaders of the Jise app pledge to revamp the subsistence of its users, runners and merchants by providing rapid and affordable delivery solution. The app has gone live in Lagos and has partnered with 40 restaurants with an aim to deliver food within 25 minutes.
